I love these IMCO lighters. Durable with proper vintage vibes, they’re something worth taking with you outdoors and using in a proper- I’m here for business- kind of way. 

The IMCO lighter, originally known as the "Super Triplex”, was first introduced in 1918 by Julius Meister & Co. (IMCO) in Austria, the lighter gained popularity for its durability, reliability, and simple design, making it a favourite among soldiers, outdoorsmen, and everyday users alike. 

The wick is held in a separate cartridge (see pics) that slides out and is easily re-fillable- it’s one of the main reasons this is so attractive as a lighter- super easy to refill and makes bushcraft fire-lighting a breeze.

There’s something about the click of the lid, the scrape of the flint, and the adjustable slide for the flame all make it irresistible. Never out of fashion, they say that the more you know the less you carry- BUT THIS one always gets thrown in the pack or pocket.  Somehow just ‘fits’ in every setting.

I use lighter fluid, but you can use methylated spirits too.
